Well, I'm glad I am still here and see you here in my blog and always give me support to always continue to give you the best recipes and tips to have a delicious meal to you and your families.

Okay let's begin to start our recipe today, "Sambal Sardin".

Well whether it's a cheap or expensive type of sardine you bought from the market usually in the can, the way I show you how to cook this, it's all the same and will give you the same delicious taste. Most definitely.

So, you don't have to worry what brand you should use. Just grab what you normally use before and follow the recipe below. Nothing to panic about.

Let's go through the ingredient:

1. Sardine in the can (medium size)/ Sardin dalam tin (sedang)
2. Chili paste (1.5 tbsp)/ Cili boh (1.5 sb)
3. Tamarind water / Air asam jawa (as this is sour, you can use 1.5 tbsp)
4. 3 Red Onion / 3 ulas bawang merah (crushed / ditumbuk)
5. 3 cloves garlic / 3 ulas bawang putih (crushed / ditumbuk)
6. Ginger / Halia 1/2 inch (crushed / ditumbuk)
7. Big Onion (Shallot) / Bawang besar 1 (Sliced it)
8. Cooking oil

Method:

- Heat your pan and cooking oil.
- Saute crushed ingredients (Onion, Garlic & Ginger)
- You can smell the fragrance and dry a bit, add the chili paste til you can see the oil on the surface.
- Add in the tomato sauce in the can and tamarind water.
- Let it simmer in 2-3 minutes
- Add the sardine in the can and shallot for garnish.
- Mix them well for 1 minute
- Serve!

Sambal Sardine nice to eat with rice and match it with mee suah soup, or eat with Roti Canai, bread, cucur ikan bilis etc etc.
